Melva Pete appointed VP of Human Resources at SAK Construction, LLC

ST. LOUIS – Melva Pete, MA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has joined the executive team of SAK Construction, LLC (SAK) as vice president of human resources. Pete brings years of experience in human resources and strategic planning to SAK, one of the fastest-growing pipeline rehabilitation and tunneling contractors in the U.S.
Her responsibilities include leading and enhancing the company’s strategy and partnerships in all areas of human resources, with a focus on talent acquisition and retention, compensation and benefits, performance management, organizational development and employee relations.

Most recently, the St. Louis resident was vice president of human resources with Bi-State Development, where she was responsible for providing strategic leadership and partnerships in all aspects of human resources. With over 15 years of diverse professional experiences in consumer products, manufacturing, and mass transit industries, Pete comes to SAK recognized as a dynamic leader, business partner and strategic thinker. She has a strong record of success and the ability to create and implement complex strategies in fast-paced, ever-changing environments.
Pete’s previous experience also includes serving as a human resources professional at Monsanto and as corporate vice president, human resources, at Angelica Corp.
Pete earned her master’s degree in business administration from Webster University and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.
